Deleting records from a database

Most of the Logos Flow database products safe guard from deleting - especially if there is related information. For example: an Item might have Management, Images, etc. linked to it. If you delete the Item then the related information is also deleted.

There are ways to block any deletions - see link below.

  1. To delete an Item Description, Producer or Management you need to be in Delete mode. To turn this on go to the item / record to delete and select Delete record from the Navigation options (see image). You will receive a message explaining you are in delete mode.
  2. From your top toolbar click Add-ins and then the Delete option (see image). You will be asked if you are sure. If you click Ok then the actual item / record is completely removed.

Note: if you are not doing a high level delete you will be able to delete a record directly - i.e. do not have to go into Delete mode. This applies if you would like to delete an image, note, etc. To do this check the Delete record is enabled on the top toolbar - from your top toolbar click Add-ins and then the Delete option (see image).

Note: if you are working through your data and planning to remove a lot of items / records then it is suggest you get in touch with Logos Flow to assist. Basically, items are tagged for deletion but not actually removed. We then automatically remove them all once your have completed working through your data. We can also create a spreadsheet of what was deleting; or, create a separate data file with all your deleted items.
